We love the delicate fan-shaped curve of a scallop, and added a debossed scallop frame to an embossed panel on our Vera Wang Lotus Scallop
wedding invitation. This elegant shape sits above a basket weave on these 20th century French oyster/scallop plates. The scallop—which resembles the setting sun—was used as a badge of pilgrimage in the Middle Ages.
