Navy blue eventually got its name from the dark blue worn by officers in the British Royal Navy since 1748. When the color came into vogue in the early 19th-century, it was first called marine blue, but the name of the color was soon changed to navy blue.
Navy is a crisp and handsome color to celebrate formal Naval weddings and it's just as wonderful for less formal weddings at the beach or yacht club.

My favorite color! I love the crisp look of navy blue and white together -- a winning combination!
