Design Studio | Our NEW Logo

After months of reflection, experimentation, and conversation, we at William Arthur are delighted to share with you our new logo.

We believe the pairing of traditional letterforms and hand-lettered calligraphy brings our brand to life with romance, sophistication, and elegance—expressing the breadth and artistry for which we have always been known.

The logo will make its formal debut at the National Stationery Show, held annually in New York City {come see us at booth #2222}. The previous logo had legibility issues and felt dated. Given that our design team is comprised of graphic artists possessing a deep love of type design, we elected to design the new logo in-house. And, they not only understand our brand, they actually embody what our brand represents. We looked at hundreds of concepts and had many vibrant discussions about what visually conveys elegance, quality and accessible luxury. The process was incredible—it was the most rewarding collaborative experience I've ever had.

The beautiful emblem with the letters WA, is a playful nod to the hundreds of monogram and duogram designs featured so prominently on William Arthur's wedding and stationery products. We fell in love with the yin/yang and masculine/feminine aspects of the emblem's lettering, achieved by combining a classic typeface with hand-lettering. We believe it will become iconic for the brand, and serve us nicely when an icon or favicon is needed.

  1. Since I've seen the old one everyday for years, it might take some getting used to... However, the combination of traditional and modern elements is already starting to grow on me. I look forward to hearing all about it when my colleagues return from seeing it all in person at NSS.
